So... I just picked up the LR006792 Kit from the Dealer... and am about to install it, but noticed that it really only has a cradle/usb/rca inputs...

The dealer notes at the service department clearly said that it was iphone compatible... But I dont see how the iphone could possibly dock with it... Unless you plug the usb/iphone cable into the USB input that the kit now gives you...

i just want to make sure I get the same functionality otu of my phone that i would get out of a reg ipod (steering wheel controls and such)

Otherwise... Ill take back the kit and just get the nav-tv bypass and get video/audio

anyone know?

oh... and can i get a new insert for the dock for the 4th gen ipod nano? without having to buy the NEXT ipod kit that comes out?

That's the part # for the old (and now discontinued) ACM. It includes the iPod cradle that's obviously too short to receive your iPhone. Some owners on other forums claim they were able to successfully connect and control their iPhone after bending or cutting the upper end of that cradle, but YMMV. The new audio connectivity module is virtually identical, same hookups and basic steering wheel controls, but only includes an end connector for iPods (that you install inside the glove box or anywhere else you want) rather than a cradle, therefore it's supposedly compatible with all current sizes of iPod and iPhones: Gen 4 (Photo), Mini, Gen5 (Video), 30,60 and 80gb, Nano Gen1, Nano Gen 2, Nano Gen3, iPod Classic, iTouch and iPhone / iPhone 3g. The part # of the new ACM is VPLAE001. Unless you got a freat deal on it - it's a closeout - I would return the kit you have and insist they order the new one. I suspect the new module may also include more up to date software for better compatibility with the latest iPhones.
