Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. My radio seems to be getting softer. Over the years, I've noticed that I've had to turn the volume up a little more to hear the radio. I'm not that old and don't think I have a hearing problem so was wondering if it's normal or possible for the radio to "fade" a bit as it gets older?

Thanks

Not sure about radio fading, but you could have high frequency hearing loss. Quit jamming so loud!

you know,
there is a volume on the binnacle. could it be you are accidentally bumping this ever so slightly every once in a while and you have your volume all out of whack.

I know when i bought my disco the radio seems to be blocwn out until i fingered up that button on the dash. BAM shit was fixed.

check it

Don't feel bad you will have lots of company soon. It seems like everytime I go some where there is someone shaking my truck from 5 cars back with pure bass. To cool for me I guess.

No I am with him....Well maybe that is because the trunk speakers just go in and out and stoped working

My antenna was going bad and I was losing volume on radio, but nothing else. I debated replacing it until this past weekend when I broke it off on a tree limb. I will replace it and see what happens.........Thank You, LRW.

Yea a few times it was because I had the volume turned down on the steering wheel and "BAM shit was fixed" but I've noticed that when I listen to CDs, it's fine, in fact it's too loud and I have to turn it down but when I switch over to the radio, it's quite quiet in comparison and I have to turn it up quite a bit...or there's so many new noises from my truck now that it's drowning the radio out.

Just noticed last night I have a crack in my windshield. Not even a full year with it...

The radio output on my 98 D1 has always been lower then the CD player, and the tape deck is louder then the CD player at the same level. I think that it just how it is. That is how mine has been since new anyways. Of course with the tires, borla exhaust, and the windows down at 60mph I can't even hear the radio at all. It's getting time for some thing louder.. Only problem with that is stereos around here get stolen almost as fast as they get put in.

It may be the radio's reception as was stated before. I was driving into work on a foggy morning and I thought my radio was screwed-up. I had to turn the volume up in order to hear Bob & Tom. On the way home (no fog) it was fine. There was no static just poor volume.
