Is parting out a 95 Disco worth it?

Hi all!

I am not sure where to post this. So please forgive me if its the wrong forum.

For those who already know, my 95 Disco was totalled by my insurance company since they could not pay for repairs to the right-side doors and center pillar.

They have offered to sell me the vehicle. But I am not sure if it would make financial sense to part it out myself and sell it part by part.

Is there a forum that I can post such a thing? Is there a market for the parts off a 95 Disco, other than the right passenger side doors?

Here is what I have in major features:
1. 68K miles old engine
2. 1 month old Borla cat-back exhaust system
3. Genuine landrover brush-guard
4. Genuine running boards
5. 6 CD changer
6. brand new magnacore wires

Everything else you need. From carpets to headlight assemblies.

Is it worth the $2500 the insurance company is asking, for me to be able to keep it? Or should I just let them take it and keep the $2500.

SKC

I just parted a wrecked 95. If it doesnt have mods I would try to get it for $2000. You will learn a lot about the truck by taking it apart, but it is a huge pain in the ass. I will not do it again. People will email you about $2 parts and the such, you will have to get good prices on shipping and it will take time to run down to the shipping place. Do you have the ability to remove the engine, transmission, transfercase those are big ticket items and take some time. to remove and ship, especially due to size.

Having said that it can be fun if you have the patients and want to really learn the truck. I had fun, but towards the end it gets old and it will test your patience.

Landylight I removed those nets off the headliner for ya, and I haven't heard back.

Well, if you do decide to part it out, I am interested in the brush bar. Let me know how much you want for it.
