Is this a good deal on an '04?

I just looked at an 04 S model with the optional dual sunroof setup. 6,700 miles on it and titled to the dealer. Dunno if it was a loaner or 'demo' or what but the warranty clock has started and it is a used vehicle...
They want $26,900 and act as if they are giving me the beast deal in the history of car sales, although I think it's really not hugely compelling for a used Disco. I know there are incentives from LRNA to the dealers to move the old stuff and I thought at one time there was "loyalty money" available to current LR owners looking to purchase.
Thoughts, ideas?

I would think that is a pretty good deal.. its barely used with only 6700 miles on the clock.. and the fact that it is a 2004 is great [CDL!] .. I paid around 23500 for my 2001 DII in early 2003 with 31k on the clock.

Is it a Certified Pre Owned? They go over it with a fine comb, and also entitles you to better extended warranty pricing.

I got my '03 S in March of '04, it was a demo, but I am the first on the title. Picked it up with 2800 miles for 27 and change. I would think with the LR3 out, and being that the thing has ben titled, you maybe could do a little better...save yourself another 1500 or so.

Just a thought.

You aint finally baggin' that Hippo are you Steve? ;)

I received loyality money when I traded in the freelander for the Disco. I do not know if that would apply to a used vehicle or not but it would be worth trying to see if they would give it.

I can always work on them and see if I can get it down a bit more. I really really don't want sunroofs though, but it's slim pickins out there.
Don- it's silver, because I want to be like you. You are my hero. ::insert sound clip of Bette Midler singing "wind beneath my wings" here:::

I won't get rid of the Freelander though- the new Disco would be kept stock (maybe 2" and some AT's) and be the road trippin, go out to dinnermobile. The Freelander would still come out for the wheelin because I enjoy driving it offroad more than a Disco. With the second Disco, I could take the time to take apart the Freelander and install that Safety Devices cage etc. and get the C.T. paint job done.

its a bit high for the chicago market...I was just shopping for a DII for both myself and one for my brother.

I could have had a silver 04 for 22500 with 9k or a grey one for 23500 with 5k on the clicker

I took a 2001 with the nipple for a little over half that :D ...plus its green

Well if it is silver then you HAVE to get it. If you do then the next time the old lady finds pictures on my computer of the disco covered in mud, like she did a few months ago, I can blame it on you... :)

Don- email me the digits, I gotta talk at you.

Hmmm- if there are some that are selling for less, I can certainly use that ammo against them. I just called them back and mentioned they need to make my life easier, they said 'come get it and we will' so the plot thickens.

We bought our '03 this summer for $27,900 It is an S model with Black paint, 7 seats, cold weather package, and the moon roofs. If you compare that to the SE7 that was sitting next to it, we saved $8000 by not buying the tow hitch, CD player, and the fog lights with the truck. (we got a hitch for $70 later that week, and I use an MP3 player anyway.)

Yours sounds like a good deal, especially when I look at the certified used that are selling at the same dealership I bought mine from - the prices have gone up by about $1500 on average!

as supply drops, the killer deals seem fewer and farther between. I wanted 7 seats, but to be realistic I don't need them. I really dont want sunroofs, but I think this one is as close as I'll get to what I want- the color is good, 16" wheels, no air suspension.

My dealer may sell you one at 27K new but you R' like 1/2 way across the country. They have like 20 new Discos in the garage!

Not sure of S, but I'm buying my 04 Disco Se for 33,144

Not sure of S, but I'm buying a brand new 04 Disco SE for $33,144. I found an out of state dealer willing to sell same truck for $31,950, but I wanted to buy local in case I ran into issues with the truck. I live in CT and other dealer was in NY, about 2 hours away.

Sounds like it's not the best deal in the history of the world, but not bad at all. I think there's some negotiations to happen. I assumed that the 4yr/50K maint plan conveys, but I'll check to be sure.
I've been looking more closely at the differences between the S and SE- The only thing that bugs me about the S is that I think it doesn't have the rear window tint. That's not a big deal to have done. The headlamp washers are a neat feature in snowy weather, but I can add those myself (Porsche 928 washer nozzles are cheap and they rock).
