Oh damn, I'm going to need to move to Australia to get a truck I like then!!

You and me both. That is, if we want a brand new vehicle, but isn't half the fun of owning a LR is that they are relatively cheap used, and they are fun to tinker with?

It seems that it's not just LRNA that doesn't want to bring in their best 4x4 products to North America. Toyota seems to think that their LC70 series has no market here.

when is Wal Mart going to start selling GM and Ford products? maybe the Mossy Oak edition Pontiac Grand Am. two FREE cases of Mt. Dew with purchase today!
HaHa, yeah and a case of Old Milwaukee for those buyers over 21. ID checks will be enforced. Also a free "cross drilled brakes look" kit and plastic carbon fibre foot pedal covers .

I love the old trucks, but there are days that a brand new one, especially one just like my old one, would be fantastic.

The new Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds are fun, but I'd much rather have a new D90/D110 or that LC70 if they were available here.

that land cruser is aweful looking. looks like a isuzu trooper II... ill take that new rover over the cruser. ... you wont be competing in the www.rainforest-challenge.com with it but it looks sharp. the brits always have top notch styling. ... cant really complain ... i mean land rover ownership that i remember consited of a crash shift gear box, top speed of 55 mph, absolutly freezing winters & a lot of wrenching. and i definatly wont complain with what bmw did with the MkIII. night and day over the classic. even night and day over p 38s.
well some people like their steak well done and some rare. i like the way rover is headed. who cant say no to improvements... my 2 cents

Yuck! I haven't liked any of L/R's proposed vehicles in the last few years, but this is the worst. Visibility out the rear and side rear has to really suck in that. Everyone knows my opinion of computers being used to acheive off-road ability.

With over double the fuel economy the Mini Clubman will impact the future of Land Rover's LR2/LRX product line. I know I would prefer 60 mpg vs the LR2's

Detroit 2008: MINI to offer diesel option in the US?

The Mini Cooper D has a fuel economy rating in the Euro cycle of
67 mpg (US) highway
50 mpg (US) city
60 mpg (US) combined

with better visibility than the LRX

Then there will be the Mini Crossman with AWD, built in Austria, . . . .

LRX... Detroit's gone for the gangsta look (Magnum, 300C), and it turned out there's not enough gangsta-pretenders in the country. LRX's surely headed this way.
