The problem with kids is their parents, and when parents are so socially retarded that they can't be responsible enough to look after their own children, then the state has a responsibility to look after the kids for their own good. In the past, the kid would have simply been moved into a state run home.

Yes, it sounds dumb to be putting CCTV into someone's home, but if the alternative is that parent not looking after the child properly and the child being re-housed, it has its advantages.

I guess the real problem is, as usual, where do you draw the line?

LOL....if parents can't take care of their kids then they shouldn't have them. If they are too stupid to understand birth control and they keep dropping babies, then it is most definitely NOT the state's responsibility to look after them. Let a charity take care of them at no taxpayer expense or let them be raised by wolves out in the forest.

They do? Why?
The stupid thing is, the state won't realize that these people don't give a shit if there is a camera in there home or not. Where does the coverage end? Will the state watch them take a shit? Fuck? They won't change. How many armed robbers adhere to gun laws?
Get ready for British law enforcment to start targeting their own citizens. It can't happen here.
This is idealistic thinking at most, to think this would be a solution is simply idiotic.

Amen Walter!

not having any 2 legged kids to raise I don't really give a rat's ass, yet, one can only take so much.

It's like this. If the incrementalism has brought it to this, it can bring it the next step as well. In other words, the CCTV's will go into other people's houses soon enough, for whatever other reason the government can think up -- drug usage, illegal dumping of chemicals in the sewer system, too many incandescent bulbs, not enough house plants, too many pets... whatever, if they can pull it off on the big stuff, eventually they will get it in all the homes.

I suppose you followed the link to the original site?

You all seem to be blaming the ?socialist Government? for this. True, it is being implemented by the Labour Government. However, note the comments from the Shadow Minister (the person who holds the equivalent position in the Opposition ? the Tory party) that it doesn?t go far enough

This is not a ?1984? scenario.

What will happen when the Tories get in at the next General Election?

Then the comments above about Hitler might have more basis

I can't agree with this but I could see it as better than putting person in jail for minor crimes, and would cost much less.

Really? What a nice spin you put on his words. You missed your calling in reporting.

Cheers,

Be careful about agreeing with Walter. He is really only concerned about those teens who cannot control his/her masturbatory urges and his/her need for privacy.

When I was in school we had to read 1984 as part of our curriculum. I wonder if this is still the case? I highly doubt it with as many young socialist utopian daydreamers teaching in public schools.
fixed it for ya.
actually, my son just read it last year.

So right you are. I forgot about the out of the blue text message from my ex using an Obama quote as her sig line. Yep, she's a teacher!
