Just returned from a magnificent 10-day trip in the desert. Picked up friends at LAX, enjoyed three days largely off pavement in Joshua Tree with friends who drove down from Denver. Took a layover day in Painted Canyon, then down to Ocotillo to drive the Anza-Borrego overland route from south to north over six days. Hardly saw another vehicle midweek, the solitude of the desert was a treat. Searing sunsets, watching the full moon rise over the ridges, empty trails, scenic hikes, it was just what I needed. Rovers were flawless, I was grateful to have my new springs on the D1 for the extra weight and terrain. Look for future articles about this trip in Overland Journal, OutdoorX4, Land Rover Owner International, Leisure Wheels, and SA4x4.
