I have a 2001 SE7 and cant get the back of the passenger side jump seat to open. Lever does move but not unlocking the mechanism that allows it to open. Any ideas?
I'm guessing you mean it's down but, the seat back will not raise?
The latch on the floor must be completely locked or the seat cannot be unfolded. A tricky combination of cable, levers and springs. I held the seat up on a stand for enough clearance to slide under and study how things worked. On one side, a cable was out of place, a sticky latch on the other.
Yes. Seat down and back stuck in down position. Guess I will try that. I have slammed the seat down to ensure it latches properly and that has worked in the past but not now.
You have to reach under the seat in the corner of the seat frame and pull the small latch towards the rear of the vehicle. This latch is supposed to "seat" on a catch on the seat frame when the jump seat is dropped into place on the floor.
