2001 D2, OME HD, recently replaced worn (down to about 10/32's, lots of sidewall cuts) MTR's (255x70x16) with Firestone Destination 265x75x16's. Wasn't sure I'd like the larger tire size, finally got out to a mining road south of LV, loose shale, very steep, with a nasty off-camber turn.

ETC used to be lit all the way up, this time it came on just for a second when I went over a bump on the way up.

In all, the formerly daunting hill was a piece-o-cake, even the off-camber turn. I should mention that in addition to the new tires, I had installed a rear TT to go with the one in the front, as well as the Slickrock front sway disconnects. I had so much fun I tried the hill a second time without CDL engaged - the ETC came on a few more times than without CDL, where ever the shale was particularely loose on the very steep hill. I really can't guestimate how much effect any of the recent changes made, but I sure like the total effect they had. Having the front sway disconnected made the ride more comfortable on the rough gravel and rock road on the way to the hill (some of that may have been the tires, as well.)

I'll be keeping the Firestones, they show no sidewall or lug damage from the trial run on very sharp rocks, aired down to 15 psi.
