Keyless entry not working

The keyless entry on my DII suddenly stopped working. I changed the battery in the remote but no luck. The red light on the remote lights up when the buttons are pushed but no response on the vehicle. Locks work fine when operated by the key in the door or the inside button. Any suggestions?

I have just started having that same problem in my '97. Works sometimes.

Sounds like the receivor is working, you will probably need to have someone with a test book test it, if you are lucky, it may just need to be reset if not, well lets not go there.

Mine has stopped working a couple of times on my '96. I found the solder in the remote had worn off where the metal clip that holds the battery onto the board is connected. I resoldered and it worked fine.

I have same problem for my 95 disco

I tried same way, it did not work out.
I called dealer, the replacement of remote was $135.00. Mine is also working locks and security. I guess receiver has no problem..Anyone know better way to solve this problem? I did replaced battery and I soldered a little attachement in battery socket area. I can see the light when I pushed button, but no works..

Mine fucked up under warrantee. They had my disco (2001) in for 7 days before they could solve it. Eventually they said there were no error codes being returned to testbook, and they replaced the receiver and ECU (basically the whole thing). Had the roof down too.

Life without the remote gets very old, especially if you have your arms full of babies and bags!
