does the PTO hang down with the shaft running under the bellhousing or do i rotate it 90 degrees so that shafts will run along the chassis rail? having trouble alignaing the drive shafts

will it matter if its going into a series three. seems that the clutch slave is in the way... i guess also it dosent help that the transmission cross member is bent all to shit

I've never fit one to a SIII, but yeah, I can see how the slave cyl could be in the way. Not looking at it in person to know for sure, you might have to rig a different path to the winch for it. Driveline angle might be an issue though unless you go under the cross member, which would make it very vulnerable to damage.

well .. the shaft just will not clear the slave cylinder, i even tried routing it like a the fairy 525 ... grinding off the nub on the transmission for the shaft to clear, but like you say the drive line angles are too acute... soooo ill trow the overdrive back in and ither but an electric on the front or switch to an engine driven koenig.

yes i was thinking about swapping transmissions. i have a IIA in the cornnor of the shop.. but i just dont think my poor old hands and infected and bleeding knuckles can take it much longer .. i'll have to heal first, then smoke a pack of smokes while starring at the rover; physciing myself up before i start in... and good point about swapping just the bellhousing. i even have a nice suffix D collecting dust
