i bought a ladder from the dealer, 97 dollars and no shipping. you spent 80 plus shipping how did i get ripped off? or do you mean back when i bought my first ladder from AB thinking it was just as good at the genuine , then seeing the genuine one in person and realizing I should have payed extra.

for what its worth my arguement is not for you but for the lurkers, you are clearly a lost cause.

...I also agree there really is a BUNCH of uninformed people on here... AB is soon going to be the only place to get parts from since "genuine" parts will no longer be available for the RRC...

I guess you're one of them.

And my argument is for the lurkers as well. Trying to protect them for know it all jerkoffs like your self. Look, giving people your opinion to help them make an educated decision is fine. Calling me out on my personal choices is fucked. Shows a real lack of character. Thanks for the excitement but I have more pressing issues than trying to defend myself from some fucktard who is apparently the AUTHORITY on quality and proves this by trying to make others look stupid.

OH shit, he just pegged your ass to the wall Greg.

Yes he did.

I don't know how he found out about my tribal tattoos. They are very personal.

Mr. Grenade-as others pointed out to you, the genuine ladder has square rungs not round as you stated. Thus I question your statement that all the ladders you've seen rusting away are actually genuine ones. That's not to say they don't rust!

Furthermore, the genuine ones are available from other source than the dealer. Here's one from an aftermarket vendor with a good pic (why look, it has square rungs-go figure):

Interesting since mine has square rungs as well, looks exactly like that and was 80.$ Where's the problem with my purchase? What about that makes me so stupid? What makes that ladder so much better than AB's?

I'm over it.

Just trying to get people to think before they give advice to others that don't know any better. When someone comes to this site for help they assume the people giving it know better. There are quality options out there besides Genuine parts. The last place I will shop for parts is the dealer.

Don't get me wrong, there are some parts you should never substitute for genuine no matter how great the deal is, a ladder is not one of em'

LOL-Nothing. If you are happy with it then that's all that counts.

I'm just trying to figure out why all the genuine ladders in Reno have a rust problem as you stated.

I don't know, honestly there are only about four Discos with ladders in Reno that I know besides mine, so I guess a TON is a bit of an over estimate. I am sure all ladders rust everywhere regardless of location.

I am going wheeling right now rather than argue on a bulletin board, Moon rocks here I come.

Peace and enjoy the rest of your evening.:victory:

I have a genuine one, bought it from a guy who had it re-powder coated for a whole
$15, and find it utterly useless. It looks pretty cool, but the rungs are so small that I tend to just slip off them, unless I put my toe against the glass. Just use the spare tire to get up to your rack, it's cheap and reliable.

Just made a short trip to moon rocks for a little rubber lovin' feeling better now. Sorry for the anger and frustration.

Tranny is slow to shift for the first ten minuets of my drive WTF? hope I am not looking at a serious problem. Fluid levels are good.

I called the closest dealer yesterday afternoon and they did not have any in stock - they told me they could "special order" it for $132.17. I believe the ~$100 price if they have a pile in stock.

I found this one on evilbay and pulled the trigger for $75 shipped yesterday afternoon. They say it is genuine and show the correct pn, but I'll find out for sure when I get it in the mail.

Whatever you choose. Consider linex'ing it. I have OE ladder and rack and sandblasted and linexed because of peeling finish. No problems since linex.
