lol....
My dad has a stained glass shop. Does all sorts of similar items, too.... so, for a birthday, for example, I'll get a beer stein with the Land Rover logo etched in it, etc. etc.
He does amazing work, builds church windows, etc. But man, even charging just a little for labor, it's still expensive... the glass itself, lead solder, kame, flux, grinders and cutters, frames, jigs, forms, a kiln, etc. etc.
A lot of times antique dealers come in with an old lamp, and want him to replace a singe piece that's broken, usually up in the middle. When he tells them how much it'll cost, they about have a heart attack.... invariably, they've sold it to a customer on the condition that they have the broken piece repaired. They want him to fold the lead up, knock out the broken one, slide a new one in and gob a lot of solder around the gaps... and refuses to do a repair like that... to do it correctly, you need to disassemble it from the outer edge, up to where the piece is, from a wide enough angle... to have a lamp or such repaired correctly is sometimes more expensive than just buying a new one, as it's a lot easier to just build one than it is to rebuild one.
