Didn't know if you have heard that Land Rover is going to cross the US on a 5000 mile route through 10 states without touching pavement. Quoting from Autoweek, this should be interesting, They will start in Asheville NC to the Oregon coast in three 2013 LR 4's. This part gets me the instructor is Tom Collins great name will be leading the team on a route of dirt and gravel roads. Just thought this was pretty cool considering they are under new ownership to show that the Land Rover is more then a grocery getter. You can see the journey of course on their website.

Where is the route?

Good question. It'd be interesting to take the same route in a hodgepodge of crappy used Land Rovers that cost less than $1000 that three of us select and see if we can do it, too. Film the whole thing and make fun of each other while we do it while also making fun of the fact that they are doing this and it's supposed to be impressive.

It's just PR so they can have nice posters for the dealership and tell potential customers that with this superior off road vehicle they too can drive across America without touching pavement.

Do you also stomp on kids toys and kick puppies? There is always someone here who has to place a negative comment.

For the suggestion of doing a whole route with the guys on here; it can be a relay type of trip (multiple vehicles with say guys within their local ish area doing a leg/running a predetermined portion of the route) to ease the $$$ burden and significantly cut down on the amount of time an individual would have to take off work. Still the same principle though...

P.S. even regardless of the LR's trip mentioned here, the above could evolve and become an annual thing with photos, videos, link ups, etc.

I hope that you like cat herding. The idea of coordinating over a dozen Dweb CheapFucks across five thousand miles and over at least three weeks gives me a headache.

I've been thinking about doing something like that in my Jaguar. It's pretty good off road, and it would make for a fun little trip.

I'm not done fucking with it, though. When I finish, it's going on a trip, and I want the trip to be interesting.

Cheers,
