Land Rover Roanoke is having our next wheels event June 28th. We are planning on the shoe creek trail and running it from the bottom up. For anyone who attended our last event this one will be run in a similar fashion. We will be meeting at the dealership at 8:30 am Saturday and leaving the dealership by 9:00. We will be providing breakfast and lunch and plans are in the works for some sort of cook out at the end of the day. Any questions or comments reply here or contact me directly.

I will try to make it, not far from my house. Good trail for fun, nothing drastic. I may do the Crabtree Falls hike at the top after the wheeling.

For a outfitted truck, yes. For newbies in stockish trucks, not so much.

What? I ran Shoe Creek many times when my truck was still stock!

When was the last time you were there? 2005?

It's not hard by any means. But even I would have a shakey foot if I was driving a $80k MKIII.

I was there last August. We ran Shoe Creek and Big Levels.

It has a few tough spots, depending on the weather and how many trucks have been through there. The Rock Garden was blocked last time we went up and that one open spot above the first creek crossing was almost like a parking lot it was so smooth.

Though I do agree about the new trucks. I was thinking more about the folks in DIs/DIIs.

We used this trail last september and ran it from the bottom up and the only vehicle that had any problems was the LR2 that I was driving. Now in that cars defense it had a transmission fault of some sort and we ended up doing the entire trail in front wheel drive. I'm going sometime next week most likely to do a pre-run and I will take some pictures to give you guys an idea of what kind of shape its in.

We ran the trail yesterday, had a good time trail is in good shape for a customer event with a couple tricky spots. Some of the off shoots had some steep inclines and decents that could make the average stock driver a little nervous. Again the event is going to be Saturday June 28th please get in touch with me to let me know if you and/or friends will be joining and how many will be in attendance. Anyone who has already posted here please get in touch with me personally so that I can get an accurate head count.

FYI, the only legal trail is the one straight up the road, most of the side areas are private property. If my truck still runs after the Summer Rally I shall see you there.

We might try to make it, if we don't have a game. Would probaby try to meet you all at the trail head though...or maybe just at the top for socializing, depending on the timing!
