So Chris was it worth the $$$? Ive been debating going to the Greenbriar one.

Well I did learn some things, but at $640 for the private lession I don't really think it was worth all that money. But it was fun.

holy shit...
$640, at $2.50 per gallon, at 16mpg, translates into 4096 miles...

You could've driven to Moab and back on that change...

I only get 9mpg, and it was a gift to me.

9mpg? wow... I thought it takes a 25 years old jeep with a smokey V8, slipping slushbox, and severely undergeared to achieve this benchmark!

Good for you, Chris!

Put a roof rack, 235.85, no sway bars, and no cruise control, interstate driving is hard because it can't keep a constant speed. And I don't have a lead foot, or i don't think i do...

cruise control, or lack of it, shouldn't knock your mileage that bad. Roof rack seems to take about 2mpg away (at ~70mph), and 33" tires - 1-2 more (on the flat ground). 9 is pretty damn low...

I can get upwards of 16 with my Range Rover, and usually around 10 with my 110. Pretty painful having to dump $50 worth of (93 octane) gas in every 200 miles these days.

It is really hard to keep a steady speed, or at least I have a problem doing it because I don't stare down at the speedo and when i do i don't realize how fast/slow I am going and then have to slow down/speed up. I am planing on getting a new Daily Driver soon.

There is no longer a LR Driving School at the Greenbriar or at Equinox. Your only choices are Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello in Montebello, Quebec, or the Biltmore Estate. I was just at Montebello, and the driving is amazing. The trails are very challenging and very fun. Mud, rocks, log bridges, water crossings, hill climbs. The facility offers a ridiculously wide array of sporting activities, too.

The Equinox school was really cool. I had not heard the Greenbriar is no more. I was going to do that one some time since it is close by. As a new LR driver, I thought the school was just right. Equinox had lots of rocks to deal with so it was different for me, the mud guy. Mine was like $450 or so 3 years ago.

For the most part I drove some trails, they focused a lot on the left foot braking, gear selection, and brakes. I know some of this, but learned a lot. I got to drive on the interstate though, that was fun. I also did the LR course type of thing that was set up for the rovers. There was a lot of time out of the car in different situations in which the instructor had me figure out the best line and why, to see if I knew. It helped so I knew what to do on different terrain and how to tackle it. I think the real test if it was worth it is to go out on a trail not made for Land Rovers and see how I perform. It really was a lot of getting the basics to build a foundation, but I did some more advanced stuff. There were no rocks however, which I would like to have done since we don't have rocks near me and I want to know how to do better.

Alexa--Next time we meet up I will tell you more about it.
