Rhino lined my front bumper and sliders. worked great. No cracking, you could prevent fading with a UV protectant they offer, however I didn't and mine is a matte finish. PM me your email and I can send you pics as I can never seem to post them.

Did my front and rear bumpers and sliders, love it worked well. no not as pretty as good powder coat but much easier to fix scratches :)

I did my home made rock sliders with Line-X. Tough as nails and looks great. It was a bit shiny at first but that lasted about a month.

My neighbor ownes a Rhino shop, and when I'm between work, I go and spray for him. I can tell you, Rhino is softer than Line X, which allows it to hold stuff to your truck bed better, but for something like a bumper or slider, Line X would be the way to go.

I've got my winch mount and front wraparound brushguard sprayed, along with the ladder, sliders and SD rack will be next. I'm very pleased with it, the guy did a good job on it, its tough, doesn't scratch and is guaranteed to last as long as the vehicle. If it chips, cracks or peels they are supposed to respray the entire thing.
Only downfall is that is does fade so its not a super deep black, but after a month or so it doesnt really continue to fade, and stays kind of a dull black. I personally like it, and would suggest that it is a better route to go than powder-coating or what have you. You can see a picture of the brushguard just after it was sprayed in my gallery under Colton Hargus for the disco I's.

Is it more expensive then powder coating? I need to do something to my KVT rack (about as big as a SD rack) and my front bumper/brush guard and my rear bumper/lamp guard on my RRC. I just have paint on all of them now and its scratched off and getting rusty. I was quoted around $450 to get all of that powder coated. Also are there any shades like powder coating or paint or just plain black? The powder coat people asked my if I wanted gloss/semi gloss/satin/matte/or flat black and I did not know what to say.

Also how is the finish on it? Is it smooth or rough?

I linex'd my back pack rack and like it. My old blazer had the rockers and bumpers done in a product called vortex. Prep was sand the finish away so that it was coarse for the stuff to stick to and then clean with isoprpyl alcohol. My friend sprayed it and it stayed pretty dark black on the sides. It did 2 things well. it kept rock chips down and covered existing rock chips and it really quieted down the road noise.

After looking at the 3 products (rhino, linex, vortex) i would say linex is best followed closely by vortex and rhino is way down due to softness and poor color retention.

As far as cost, on my rack it was $10 less than having Kyle's guy powdercoat it. The rockers and flares were done for nothing to use as advertising for my friends company.

Perfect timing on this thread. After three years of ownership, this weekend I removed my RTE Sliders. Spent a few hours stripping them down with the wire wheel and am looking for an alternate coating..... Been thinking about Rhino / Linex.....

I just painted the bottom on my MG with Hippo liner. It's a tintable truck bed liner. Here is a photo after the first can.
