Depends on what you want to do with it. Call Steve at Rovertym and talk to him about what your plans are, you could go with a body lift for cheap, but new springs and shocks will probably make the ride smoother. I have 2" springs for sale in the other section, let me know if you need them.

What do you plan to use the truck to do? What kind of offroading, what size tires, etc... The more info the better.

If you do a search for springs, there is a ton of info about them on this site.
Having said that.
I like OME. Tried and proven.
I highly recommend EE for their, service, expertise, and Handed Springs. Not only does it solve the listing, but it says a lot about a vendor who will take the time to sort through an entire container of springs and pick out even pairs.

I am curious, when people do not ask what you intend to do with the vehicle...
So tell us, what is your goal.

lift

thanks guys for the help. I'm new to this site. My wife picked up an 2004 Range Rover. i am so amazed at these trucks. these trucks stock are more capable than my 95 jeep yj. I picked up this 88 RRC so i could I could REALLY have a good time. my wife is not to keen on me taking her 04 off road much. My goal for my 88 is weekend offroading. This truck will be my daily driver as well so i don't want to go to nuts. I heard with an old man med. kit i can get 245/75/16 mud tire. Im from the world of 33's and 35's. I live in charleston SC. I look foward to getting off road with you guys so i can REALLY see what these trucks can do!

what size tire will fit with these springs? $90.00 is a good price. How much for the front springs? what type shock do you suggest?

Some other suggestions.

I have OMEs on my D1 and they are the best for a mild lift and last a long time.
If you want a cheap lift then the Big Blues from DAP are the cheapest. My bro in law has them on his Rover though and the front springs seem weak for an ARB. I currently run RTE 2 inch springs on the rear and HD LR rear Rangie springs in the front that are pretty worn out on the front of my RRC. I also had to put a one inch spacer in the front to level it out. I am changing the front over to rear Disco springs right now but they did not add much if any additional height and they are worn out too.
If you could pick up some used 2 inch rear springs and move the rears to the front you might be happy. If you need spacer then you will have to open the center of the spacer up for the shock and probably have to space the shock up a bit with an extra bushings. ( I made a different lower shock mount for mine). Anyway, just some old ideas. search cheap bastard lift. Later Gordo

On both my rangie's I have the tallest OME lift. On one truck I have 245/75 BFG At's. They look good.

On the other truck I have 235/85 BFG Mt's. Search in the photo gallery for Rangie's with this sized tire. Also 265/75 size will fit on your truck with a 2" lift. These (235/85 and 265/75) both are nearly 32" and seem to be the most popular size tire with the 2" lift.

The 245/75 will fit with your current setup and no lift. One thing to consider though is that with a big Mud tire your 3.5 might not be up to the task especially on hills but i cant speak from experience on that one since both mine have the 3.9.

If I were you, I would not buy brand new springs and tires. Keep checking back here and the other LR sites and you will find some good used ones, sometimes for a steal, unless you're in a real hurry.

I have heard from some guys that the RTE springs they bought sagged after not too llong on their trucks. I think the OME's have a lifetime warranty against this. I am going to buy Scorpion Racing springs next from the UK, which also carry a lifetime warranty against sagging.

Check out these two links for mroe info...

classic Rangie's are great vehicles!

The "newer" RoverTym springs have not had any sagging issues....new meaning the last 1.5- 2 years. That may have been the older RTE springs....FWIW.........buy American!!

I was just in Charleston this morning, driving back (hung over)...
I sold the fronts, but if you cannot find someone here selling just the fronts Steve at RTE can get them for you. I had a 32" tire with those, so you can go reasonably big before you have to trim any. Check the pics on the Rovertym bumper thread here for some images of RRC with the 2" springs, I posted there as well. Email me if you have any questions, I am lucky to have a couple of experienced RRC guys here in town who have been helping me (spend money) repair and upgrade mine for the trails. I sold a Jeep earlier to get this, much more comfortable and "interesting."

Not sure about that area, I think there is a dealership in Charleston that could point you towards some, and here is a good place to look. Try the trails rides section.
