The VIN tells you where the car was last registered, and if you're lucky any recent repair work.

In the end, some places will just turn the name over as public information, many dealerships and shops don't care, and even those that do will commonly give up the goods if you figure out a quick-lube lane mechanic's name and ask to speak to him specifically. Odds are, he'll look it up in that system without even thinking about it.

Information brokers are available if you just can't find it, and there are other ways, but this is the simplest, safest approach.

Always remember that, used creatively, even the most seemingly innocuous piece of information will provide much, much more.

All it takes is an asshole and some dedication. I would suppose it's a bit like prison, in that respect; or a really bad night of drinking in Southeast Asia. :ROFLMAO:
