Hey all...
I lost all my coolant from somewhere behind the intake plenum. Back down between that and the firewall.

I don't see any hoses back there and I'm not sure where the coolant passages run in this block. Sprays out in a stream, constant, and fast. Just can't see back there too well to ID where it is coming from.

Any thoughts what I might be getting into?

You lost your intake gasket, and badly.. could also have loose bolts. Do not start it, do not drive it, tow it to somewhere they can take it apart and replace it.

Scale of wrenches 1 to 10 ... how many to replace the gasket?

I hear it's not too bad, when mine went I didn't have time or space to do it myself though. Plenty of others here have changed it themselves though and should be able to offer an opinion. The dealers mess it up often enough though.

if you have time on your hands and the rave cd, its maybe a 3 on the difficulty scale. did mine right before exodus. just alot of bullshit to take off an put back on. with alot of plastic bags to mark and put all the little bolts in and a good clear digi cam, you should have no problem.

oh and one other thing... how the hell do you keep your under bonnet so clean???

Lance ... like most other Discos ... it sits in the garage broke most of the time so she stays real clean! Actually, I just wait for holes in gaskets to spring up and that hot spray keeps the motor real clean. (I use Simple Green in the spray bottle, let sit for 5 minutes, rinse and repeat as required).

Anyone know if there are any warranty or recall issues with this leaking intake gasket? I'd like to know that going in before I tow it to the shark (dealer) to have it fixed.

Thanks!
