I have lost my only key, I could use the help on how can I find a replacement. Do I have to go to the dealership? Or can a locksmith cut one with my VIN?

A locksmith can come to you and cut a key, no need to pull the ignition. Cost you some $ (< $100) but can be done. Got AAA? call them.

Edit: I see you are in TN. I've used Kingsport Locksmith Service ((423) 247-1077) to cut spares for me, so I know they can make rover keys. He also can come to you.

I didn't even know dealers cut keys. We don't.

I had my only key break a while back. Went to LR Cary to get the key code. They said they had a key cutting machine, but it hadnt worked in a few years.... I called a mobile locksmith and he eventually found the correct blank cut it in his van.. good to go.

Most are configured to disarm with the key, any key that turns the lock. If for some reason the BCU was configured to require the remote to disarm, you could still use the key and the EKA

I bought blanks on ebay for my '04 DII and '91 RRC. Took them to Lowe's the other day and they cut them. It took awhile for the guy to find the correct key cartridge (they don't cut them by hand anymore) but it worked. He didn't even charge me because I had my own blanks. Go figure! I guess it was my lucky day.
