Low RPM hesitation from a complete stop

Hello all:

I searched for TPS related problems but I am still searching. Someone suggested it could be a bad TPS sensor.

My Disco II '01 with 75K started doing this first a couple times a month but now is happening almost every time or it goes away and comes back few days later, at first I thought it was because the engine was cold but now is becoming a problem.

When I am at complete stop and I press the gas to take off the RPMs drop and looks like the engine is going to stall. I don't have bad idling or hesitation at a stop or once the truck is moving, it is only happening when I take off and don't have any service engine light or codes. I even brought it to my LR guy and he drove the truck after the engine was off for a couple hours and guess what? The truck did not do it. He did not check with the Testbook computer. I don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

As always your help is greatly appreciated

is it whenever or only after a certain condition is present? I have read that if it is after a long highway haul it can be the transmission something or other sticking, which is what happens with mine.

could be over or underfilled transmission?

My first impression was that only did this when the engine was cold, then I suspected when at a traffice light the truck will roll back slightly and then move forward. I don't know if there is something sticking somewhere, but my transmission was service at 60K, on every oil change my LR indy guys check the fluid for proper level. Like I said it used to do it a couple times here and there but now is more often. Just this morning, I got stuck in traffic on a local highway and as cars will start moving as soon as I pressed the gas pedal the RPM will drop you feel the 1 or 2 second hesitation and then it will accelarate fine without any "missing on the engine or rough running. it is weird and I believe this is going to lead to something more serious, no check engine lights or nothing.

Thanks for your input
