I'm in the middle of doing this right now...used a gear puller to slide the axle out. All my bolts are seized so chopping and hacking my way through it - but the absolute worst thing was the lower balljoint just wouldn't pop out of the spindle. Holy crap...no amount of heat and hammering worked. Ended up disassembling EVERYTHING and putting in my press...was just on the verge of ordering a used spindle when it finally came out.

Already dreading doing the other side. :ack:

Right, which is why I wound up cutting mine out. I was thinking more along the lines of the shock bolts, TREs, ball joints, etc.

Holy crap I should have done this a year ago...what a transformation. :applause:

Probably won't go tell the parts store that those new rotors I put on last summer and then brought back because they were warped actually weren't...

I'm getting ready to replace mine for the first time. Only have 71K miles but it's time. I thought that while I had things apart that I would go ahead and do the uppers as well. I found both lowers and uppers for $380 delivered. Those are new and complete with bushings and ball joints. What I'm having a bit of trouble with is finding all of the fasteners. I would like to go back with new if possible. On top of that they're expensive. North of $100.
