Use RTV in the notches of the block @ front & back. Then use a layer of copper coat gasket spray on the block-side of the pan gasket.

It's listed in the online workshop manual p. 12-2-47, #4 of reassembly procedure

WOW what an undertaking. It took 2 days but it wasn't that difficult. With this tip and the manual I managed to get it all back together. I work on motorcycles all the time but this was my first experience with car engines. Thanks Hubacek.
