So I'm looking at buying another LR3 project this weekend, and it's got running boards and an a-bar on the front. Of course I'm going to remove both, but I'm worried about the front bumper. I'm assuming they had to drill holes into it. Are they in the painted part of the bumper? Or can I just fit black plugs? If it's in the painted part, any suggestions of how to make it not look like crap?

if it's a oem a-bar your going to have some nice holes in the bumper to fill. Ive seen several styles over the years... all attach different ways.

So I got it. It's the factory one, and it's trash. Looks like they ran into something and shattered it. Hopefully the bumper is ok underneath, other than the holes.

Any pics of it? I was thinking of adding one to ours but was curious as to how durable they are. I want to mount some additional lighting up front and was thinking of mounting one of them. Not too many options as far as brush/A bars go.

If you throw away the plastic upper mounts and swap them for the Mantec metal style. the A-bar is a lot stronger.

But it still mounts to the plastic grille, so you can't bash stuff out of the way.
