05 lr3 with 273k bought it a few months ago. Very good overall condition.
I started noticing a clicking noise while turning. Mostly in reverse backing out of a spot. Only there sometimes.

Today I jacked up the drivers side and noticed I have side to side play when grabbing the tire.
I also noticed I move the axle shaft in and out a small amount. Enough to make a clunk.

So what are you're thoughts? Bad CV? Bad wheel bearing? Or could the axle nut not be tightened down enough?

While wheel bearings are common they’re more of a grinding noise. In my experience a clicking while turning is a CV. While not a common problem on the LR3 that’s a hell of a lot of miles too

I think Im going to start with the wheel bearing as the side to side movement of the wheel is more concerning than the occasional click.
