Looking at the retail list asking prices of second hand LR3 and typically the SE7s seem to be just under $40k, having originally listed at close to or exceeding $50k.

If these vehicles are being traded someone is taking a HUGE hit- probably $15+k off list

Unless of course the Repo man took them away.......

That's pretty much the same sort of depreciation that the D2's suffered from. Makes buying a slightly used one more attractive than a new one in my opinion. I've seen '05 SEs with under 10k miles for as low as $32k with navigation and other goodies. There seem to be a lot of them, too.

Don't all Land Rovers depreciate much faster than most other vehicles?

I gotta say the Range Rover(2003 onwards) still seem kinda pricey!

I guess those are doing a little better than Discos. Defenders definitely hold there value too.

Buy a dealer demo / staff car

I picked up an LR3 SE7 with the light package, Java black, cold climate, rear seats, rear climate, navigation, wood trim (the shiny stuff, not factory) auto start, and stuff,,, list was 56,250 plus. It was the General Managers SE.

I paid 44K and change with 8K miles on it, 8 months old. It seemed like a good deal at the time and with what I ve seen out there for private sellers,, I made out well.

I wonder what the value of an LR3 will be in say 10 years? With the electrical problems that seem to plague the D1's and D2's, I can only imagine the same could happen to the LR3. It could even be worse with all the computer controls for the drivetrain.

Well all new vehicles take a big hit as soon as they become used, that's why it's a hell of a lot cheaper to buy used. Case in point my best friends dad drives an 04 760Li that would have been stickered in the 130K range but he got it for 95K with a few thousand miles.
