Anything special about putting an LR3 on a lift? I want to start counting how many control arms I need to buy. ;) I figure it will be easier up in the air.

I remember my mom's Lincoln has a switch in the trunk to disable the air compressor before lifting it. (back before it got coil springs anyway.)

The most important thing is that you don't pick it up by the compressor. The only control arms you will need is the front lower control arms. I don't think Ive ever seen any others fail, and its really just front lower rear bushings that go bad, and the occasional ball joint.

Good to know. Those arms are the cheap ones. I figure that arms would be easier for me than just bushings. Only down fall will be finding someone to do the alignment that also has a computer that can put the air suspension in the right mode, I guess.

Don't quote me on it, but it looks like some shops in the UK figured that setting the suspension in off-road mode (or highest mode you can get) allows for suspension to stay put and alignment to get done without any LR-specific computer plugged in (I got that from a comment on disco3.co.uk I'm pretty sure).
I had my alignment done once at a local garage and when I got onto the highway, the computers went bezerk and reported faults from everywhere. But after two engine restarts (while driving), faults went away. Tires did not seem to unevenly wear so I assume the alignment was correct (I just had it redone after replacing the control arms).

What you guys are referring to is tight tolerance mode. It is not necessary for an alignment just recommended. It you plan on doing Johnson Rods install them first then have the truck aligned. We didn't place the trucks into ttm at the dealer.

I never ever put one in any other mode or ever hooked it up to anything... Just left the drivers door open. Off road mode will jack the alignment up.
