Ok, if given the choice of the two cars would you take an LR3 SE with every option or a Range Rover Sport? (non-supercharged) I have run into a situation where I might be able to get a RRS instead of an LR3 for almost the same money. Feedback please.

I saw one (RRS HSE) in the flesh last weekend and I really liked it. The luxury package included some really excellent seats with soft leather and nice matte-finished wood trim. I wish the LR3 had both! The RRS also comes with far superior tires (Goodyear's on the LR3 SUCK)

For me, the boot wasn't big enough for my dogs, so the RRS would be out of the question. But I liked the interior better, and the styling is no contest IMO (RRS).

The only real fly in the ointment (assuming you don't need the cargo space) is the ride height. I am going to take a tape measure over there this weekend and have a go--Land Rover's publishe specs make me believe it may have been "lowered" or at least not raise as high.

I have an LR3 HSE and I drove the RRS for two days in Moab in the Land Rover Adventure.

The vehicles are very similar. The RRS is more like a car and will handle slightly better on the road as it is lower. It also has a shorter wheelbase.

The LR3 is more like a truck and can seat 7.

I saw a RRS yesterday, and it was pretty sharp. I have not been sold on an LR3 yet so I would probably go with the RRS......

I guess I'm a little late to help your decision, but I'd get a RRS given the choice. It looks so much better than the "chunky" LR3. The styling is in some ways even better than the traditional RR.

I don't know if I'd use it off-road though. It looks like the ultimate roadtrip car. Comfortable, luxurious, and peppy. I'd love to explore America's roads in one.
