If I remember correct he had the center of the wheel made a little bigger but I will point the owner at this thread and let him explain it since I am not the one who did the modification to his wheels.
There is no reason for the expensive adapters from Rover accessories. If your going to put a set of rims on the LR3 to do off-roading, the have the rims milled. Find a company that will mill the hub out to fit on the brake rotors. I believe the size is 4.8220". HAVE THE COMPANY CHECK THE MEASUREMENT.
Then, you can go out a buy 285/60R18 tires to put on your new hurricanes. They will not rub and fit perfectly. I put a 1/4' spacer on the hub to move the tire away from the upper A-Arms. And don't forget the DII lug nuts!
Not only do they do better off-roading, but I kinda like the way they look better. They fill the wheel well more than the stock. I have run them all summer and have been extremly pleased with the more confidence with better traction.
If anyone does not have the time or effort to get that done, they can let me know and I have the company with the mill, and the connections to the rest of the part to get a set together. I can have a set of rims and tires created for you and they will be ready to mount when you recieve them. Otherwise, you have all of the information you need to have a set created. Don't forget the spare. The stock spare and these tires don't mix. It will throw the TC into crazy mode if you do it.
Thanks,
Dave.
