One of my customers attended the National Rally in Moab this past week and I managed to snap a few pictures on Poison Spider, Hells revenge and an unknown trail.

The LR3 did surprisingly well and kept up with everyone else on the trails without needing any special spotting or assistance. Anyhow?. I thought I would post a few photos for your viewing pleasure :)

That's awesome, How did he fit the D2 wheels on there? The hubs are different...

If I remember correct he had the center of the wheel made a little bigger but I will point the owner at this thread and let him explain it since I am not the one who did the modification to his wheels.

I still say the biggest question with them is how will they age. There's a lot of very complicated electronics there that may be more than the average DIY home mechanic can handle by himself when the warranties are up. Otherwise, I agree that they are proving themselvs to be more capable than I would have thought.

There is no reason for the expensive adapters from Rover accessories. If your going to put a set of rims on the LR3 to do off-roading, the have the rims milled. Find a company that will mill the hub out to fit on the brake rotors. I believe the size is 4.8220". HAVE THE COMPANY CHECK THE MEASUREMENT.

Then, you can go out a buy 285/60R18 tires to put on your new hurricanes. They will not rub and fit perfectly. I put a 1/4' spacer on the hub to move the tire away from the upper A-Arms. And don't forget the DII lug nuts!

Not only do they do better off-roading, but I kinda like the way they look better. They fill the wheel well more than the stock. I have run them all summer and have been extremly pleased with the more confidence with better traction.

If anyone does not have the time or effort to get that done, they can let me know and I have the company with the mill, and the connections to the rest of the part to get a set together. I can have a set of rims and tires created for you and they will be ready to mount when you recieve them. Otherwise, you have all of the information you need to have a set created. Don't forget the spare. The stock spare and these tires don't mix. It will throw the TC into crazy mode if you do it.

Thanks,
Dave.

I was on the Spider with the LR3- I was impressed. It, along with a nice little RR Sport, had the tech end of wheeling down to an art. However, there is something to be said for skill.

Still not a fan...but you can't argue with the capabilities of the truck...it was amazing to watch.
