Hi everyone,

I am currently searching for a LR3 owner that would be willing to let me use their LR3 for the development of rock sliders.

Ideally I would like to work with someone located in Colorado so I would have physical access for measuring and test fitting. If I am unable to locate someone in Colorado I may be willing to work with someone from out of state that is mechanically inclined and has the ability to take precise measurements.

If you are interested or know of anyone in Colorado that might be interested send me an email to the address provided in my profile.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave,

If you run out of options, and Ho won't help, I'll be happy to! :D

Hey Bruno,

Think you could fit a 33" tire in there? Something like a BFG 255/85 on stock backspacing? When I got to look at it next to the D2, seemed like the fender wells were more spacious.

why even bother :)

I personally feel that people will want to use the LR3 off-road and when they make that decision to use it off road I feel that the sliders will be a valuable addition. I feel that the sliders will allow them to go a little further while protecting their LR3?s body panels.

I'll have to put one up next to the OEM tire, with the 255/60-18's (~30") in standard ride height mode, I've got around 3 1/2" of clearance forward of the stock tire, 4" to the top of the well, and 3" to the rear.

It would be tight! (if it will even fit...) now if we could 'fool' the ride height sensors, it would come down to how much lift the bags can safely/consistently provide.

BTW, I promised myself I wouldn't junk up a perfectly good "daily driver" , so this is all pure fiction :D

Yes , build one that starts at the front and comes up and over the entire truck. Kinda like pulling its giant algae eater lower lip up over its head. Then we dont have to look at it....

I agree, that big blank area on the back needs something to make it look better.

I will buy a set

I just came back from off-roading in Moab, UT. Took my LR3 rock climbing and did some damage to the rocker pannels on some of the larger boulders. Rock sliders will reduce damage as well as adding side jacking points. Anyone who has info on a set please post.
