LR3 Transmission Swap

Here we go guys. I paid $810 to have my LR3 towed back to my house with the transmission removed and in a million pieces. I just ordered a used transmission with 131k on it. The seller stated that it shifted smoothly prior to removal. It comes with the torque converter as well. They have provided me with a 90 warranty on it. Can anyone tell me 1. Should I replace the torque converter with a rebuilt one or use what they're providing? 2. Can anyone point me in the right direction for details on swapping out the valve body/mechtronic from my transmission to the donor?

I am blown away by this guy's persistence.
Probably, a lot of recent ZF auto boxes get trashed for the same reason - broken control valves.

yep , people find those documents written by someone with limited knowledge. Then read by someone who doesn't know what fail safe mode even means. I bet poor drew thinks that means car on the bump stops with the dash lit up like his Christmas tree.

Limp home mode is when the trans defaults to 3rd gear and makes no shifts . It has no power but will get you home. Takes off in 3 rd and stays there.

Closed loop is a normal operation mode that the vehicle goes into once the O2 sensors are hot enough to operate and a specific amount of time has passed since start up. It is the opposite of open loop, an operational mode when the vehicle knows the O2 sensors are not hot enough to operate and the vehicle uses other ( less perfect) methods to meter fuel.
