I was in my local dealership checking out the showroom and noticed an LR3 with basic headlights (Halogen). Turns out it's a V6. One of the techs explained it's engine is based on the Ford Europe 'Cologne' engine which powered a crap load of different Fords, from Scorpio's, Capris (not the 'sports' POS from Australia) and Transit vans in the 70's - 90's!!!
The V6 model has no external badging to distinguish it and no, there's no coil springs either! The LR3's expensive for a V6 - to compete with the new Nissan?

Na it's a Ford exploder enigne not a Capri V6. You can buy them here as a poverty pack with 6 speed manual and coils,no terain response etc if you want or full spec like the V8 or Diesel. In OZ the V6 is $16k oz less than the same spec V8 and $8k less than the TDV6 diesel. You can also get the Diesel as a Poverty pack here as well but not the V8. The D3 here has a badge on the tail that tells you whats under the lid. The V6 petrol uses almost the same amount of fuel as the V8 and doesn't as good as you would expect.

They should offer that same package over here with the coils and no fancy frills, I bet it would be a big seller, especially with the difference in cost. I'm trying to hold out to see what these are going to go for used over the next few years.
