Lug nut cover removal trick

Thanks to a local tire store, my lug nuts sizes now vary from 1" to 1 1/16" (27mm OEM) to 1 1/8" due to deformed ss caps. I've decided to remove the caps and carry a 1" breaker bar to remove the lugs. The below link is a quick way to remove the SS cap from the lugs. I have removed one cap using this method and thought it was worth sharing...

My local tire store did the same. Discount tire. After MUCH persuasion they finally bought me a new set. (These things cost a small fortune)
Next time I think the tech will realize the 1 1/8" is not 1 1/16".

I always give them the correct impact socket to use.. That way there is no issue.

I wouldnt either, but I dont have a tire mounting and balancing machine... YET!
