Can't say much as far as poker room or atmosphere, but if you want to talk buffets, I have eaten my way through that city quite a few times. Bally's for lunch buffet. MGM's Grand Buffet for dinner. Now for off the strip trip, hit Arizona Charlie's. This is where the locals go to gamble, and your best bet for that 4:30 am post party breakfast buffet. All menu items 77 centavos. Order one of everything! Also no trip to Vegas is complete without a trip to Cheetah's. Enjoy!
Just got back from Vegas last weekend. I've stayed at Harrah's before and have liked it. My husband loves the breakfast buffet @ Harrah's plus they have an outdoor bar that can be fun. Harrah's and Bally's are at good locations on the strip. The Luxor is way down the other end, but a nice hotel. Have fun!
I stay at the Luxor at least 5 times per year. To me it is great especially the pool, which is the largest in Vegas. Not sure about Poker, I think the buffet is great, but that place is like a minicity. I can't wait to go there again the first weekend of Nov. It also has a shuttle to run you to Mandalay Bay and New York New York for free.
If you're looking for poker, there's but 2 places. Good luck if you are going to try holdum. There's too many young kids who have gotten very good on the internet. I played holdum about 3 years ago at both and did pretty well.
Thanks for the input. Looks like a cant go wrong. I'll be hitting up foxwoods a bunch of times to get some more practice in, Im not a fan of playing online.
