MAF causing P1171 & P1174?

My air filter housing buckle broke causing the MAF meter to not be completely tight. Would this cause the codes P1171 & P1174? I'm chasing down the CES light, as it's causing me to fail emissions :banghead:

I've already replaced the Vacuum Solenoid, and the purge valve.

No. Leaks past the MAF will cause issues, but your are very likely to be vacuum leaks. At least that's a possibility that's easy to check for first.

Could be your injectors as these are lean burn codes. I was having issues with o2 codes and a lean burn that turned out to be two clogged injectors. I'd rule out other causes first as pulling everything to get at the injectors was a PITA as it was my first time. Sent them to Fuel Injection Connection for a rebuild/cleaning. Truck runs much better now with better power and mpg.

I saw these codes recently, and when I disconnected the upstream O2 sensor plugs, both of them had one pin with enough corrosion to turn green.

Low voltage devices don't like that AT ALL.

What's the easiest way to check for vacuum leaks?

An unlit propane torch or some starting fluid or carb cleaner. I like the propane best, as it seems to find the smallest leaks.

If you run that around your vacuum line or possible leak areas while the truck is at idle you'll hear it surge or bog down when you get near one (depending on what you are using and where).

Was that the problem? I just pulled the same codes on my D2.:patriot:

I may have found the culprit. My hose from the idle control valve to the throttle body is toast, and leaking.

I've ordered my tube. Also my buckle on top of my air box lid broke, so my MAF is not sealed either. I'm hoping these are the problems. If I can get these fixed, clear my codes, and cross my fingers.

BTW, I see your from north NM. We have a home up there, about 35 minutes south of Taos. I hate that parts of NM caught fire.
