I have a pair of Black (4) step 3" Round tube Manik Nerf Bars for sale from my 99 Disco II. They are nearly new and in EXCELLENT condition. No signs of damage. I bought the vehicle with them on it, but dont want them. They look really nice.

$195. I think this is more than fair considering they run $300 new. Includes mounting hardware. Shipping would probably run $30+/- for the pair.

Chris 678-491-6689 8am-8pm EST. Please do not call earlier or later.

Actually- those are just the ticket for someone who needs some cheap temporary steps so the pregnant wife can get in the truck- then ditch 'em afterwards. :D

So because JSQ tells you the truth, that manik nerf bars are junk, and that you want to sell them used for more than new ones go for, he sucks dick?

I think muskyman's avatar says it all

Hey Jack no offensive dude I think I can understand you trying to be so judgmental, but my question is this. Why should you take such offense for what someone else chooses to run on their rig?

I'm not looking to get into the battle of who can come back with the best smart ass remark or who has the biggest balls, pound my chest contest.

I'm really asking you the question as I have actually contemplated putting some Nerf's on my Disco.

I had a GMC Yukon with the shitty junky ass plastic factory running boards. Talk about corny dude and I HATED them, but did I ever take them off? *NO*

Why you ask would I leave something on my rig that I hated?

Reason my step mom has a bad hip and I ran 285-75-R16's on my 4x4 -4dr Yukon...and even with the running boards we had a hell of a time getting her in the truck if we were commuting out to dinner or something.

Hey I could have went with smaller lift, smaller tires like the stock 235 Uniroyal's the truck had when I got it from the dealer, but hey I thought leaving the boards on and getting as much hight was better and a small sacrifice. I started to replace the plastic boards with nurfs on that truck as well, but never did.

Now I have a 3" lift on my Disco with no running boards running 265-75-R16's and I am looking at getting 2 more inches of lift as I have everything converted drives shaft conversion and so on for the bigger lift as I want to run 33's, maybe even 35's, but again here I am my Disco is 90% city trekker daily driver and 10% off road.

I never wheel the truck that much....I took it out today and tore the shit out of it in only a couple hours. The two other guys I was with sustained no damage to their rigs, which nether were Rovers.

I completely busted my OME steering stablelizer....anyway if I were to get a bigger lift now so hopefully I won't bust anymore OME SS my step mom would not even be able to get into the truck and my wife is only 4' 11" and about 110lbs so she has to climb like a monkey as well to get in my truck as it is now.

So here is my question, if I can't put the Jeep Nerf's on my Land Rover without having to hear shit about it if I were to post a picture of my rig on Disco web....than please be my guest and suggest a Land Rover OEM Nerf bar or an after market Nerf that is good enough in you're eye's for a Land Rover Discovery, so my step mom can climb her old ass into my truck, so we can go out to dinner when she is visiting in town.

Or do you just hate Nerf steps on a Rover all together, so I need to custom fab some rock sliders with a built in side step. DIY or get ripped a new own by the Royal family here on Disco web.

I mean really to all of you guys...I have seen ripping people here for what they do to their trucks just blows my mind. Hell it is my rig man if I want to paint the thing pink and put a Built in America Chevy logo across the hood on my truck, it may be moronic to anyone who likes Rovers, but it is MY truck, MY rig it has to be set up too work for me and not necessary set up like yours or you're idea of how every Rover should be.

Hell I am seriously considering yankin out the Brit 3.9ltr V8 gas engine and dropping in a 3.9ltr diesel Cummings Engine in mine and pulling the stock rear end and fabricating a whole Dodge rear end with the gearing to handle all the torq from the diesel.

I already have the engine and trans and my brother and law was looking at it today and when my gas engine takes a dump the fun may really begin.

Again dude I don't think you should get so bent when you see something on a rig you think looks hokey. I mean if you are some kinds of official Rover judge and guidelines expert I would understand maybe, and who knows maybe you are and maybe I am way out of line...not sure.

And I was born in the back seat of a greyhound bus
Rollin? down highway 41.

Leaving out of nashville, tennessee,

All I know is that I am a few years from decking my Disco out for pure off-road use, I primarily use mine now for towing the boat and the carrying the kayaks. I'm just looking for a cheap step that I can get a few years out of to reach up to the Thule racks to tie down the kayaks/canoe. Down the road I would probably dump them for sliders, but like I said, that's still a few years away.

Hey Joe,

That was my point exactly I would guesstimate that probably 1 out of 1000 Rovers ever see any serious dirt. I mean truthfully they are urban dwellers in almost all cases, but if you own one that only wheels on the pavement does that mean you're not Rover enough to take part in this website.

I think a lot of people aspire to have a radical off road Rover, but it may not be practical, but I would think they would still be more then welcomed here as part of the family not insulted for bolt on mods and called a poser.

Where I come from if you aren't running at least 6" of lift with 35's, and you consider you're rig a truly capable offroad ready vehicle, you are a poser.

I have 3" of lift on mine and I still feel like I am setting on the ground. I cannot remember when I even had a street vehicle/truck that wasn't running at least 285-75-R16's.

I now have 265-75-R16 Goodyear baby tires on my Rover....lol

and the guy's who run a 2" OME with 245-85-16's I don't see how you keep from getting high centered on a minute by minute basis unless you're offroading means that you are actually still on some kind of path or road and not truly offroad.

When I use the phrase off road that is exactly what I mean I have taken my trucks to places no other set of tires have ever been and that sometimes has just consisted of going out through 1,800 acres of West Texas Pasture land to count cattle.

You pathetic little liar.
Even Steve Young already sniffed you out for what you are and now you come along again pretending.

you ALREADY put those stupid manik nerfs on your disco. it was the XD in the for sale section. you want to make an attempt at justifying such an ugly and detrimental modification but you don't even have the conviction to admit that you've already done it. you want to pretend like you're just thinking about it so that when you get schooled you can back out. I suppose you just happened to have those manik jokes on the XD and now you're considering them for your latest salvage title curbstoner special?

you can give up on the only X% of rovers are used for such and such line of logic. Discoweb isn't the general public. It specifically caters to offroad use and modification. Don't be suprised when jeep Nerfs get laughed at.

No Jack,

I didn't put the Manik Nerf's on the XD I bought it with them on it and they went with the truck when it sold. My personal Disco has no Nerf's on it...and again I have never owned a vehicle in my life that has or has been deemed salvage.

Is that the best you can do dude is just resort to name calling....hmm won't hold it against ya man I use to do the same shit when I was in high school. I seriously run around this site and board and read the posts and yourself with around 4 other members on discoweb seriously still sound like you're in high school or barely out with you're really mature logic.

With all you're I'm Billy Bad Ass and the King of Roverville. It's really pretty boring dude and lame. Again I have said this before, anyone can play tuff on a message board and from my experience it is usually those key board tuff guy's that are 100% pansy in the real world and probably never got into more then 5 fist fights in their life.

JSQ said:

Again man, I don't have to make an attempt at justifying anything dude, much less too you....I mean who are you? Are you Rover Modification Control or do you just have an opinion?

Yeah I think that is it in a nutshell you just have an opinion and like the old saying goes opinions are like assholes everyone has one. In you're case that is all it is, is an opinion and doesn't make it right or correct.

Manik Nerf's are not made by Jeep if you didn't know...I have had a whole list of Jeeps and I have never ran Manick nefs on any of them.

I have a set of Hella lights on my Disco though and I remember seeing Hella and spot lights on Jeeps back in the 70's on the front....you know kinda like Land Rover did when they started production on the Disco. So, does that mean anyone running Hellas are putting stupid ass Jeep lights on their truck....hmm

With you're logic I guess it would....question do you have any Jeep Hellas on you're Rover?

Again dude what I do to "MY RIG" is my business and if you don't like it well,....hmm lets see that would be you're problem.
