no fuckin way!
real deal honest to god jeep Nerf's on a rover.
so much for poser nerf sliders, i've been outdone!
Hey Jack no offensive dude I think I can understand you trying to be so judgmental, but my question is this. Why should you take such offense for what someone else chooses to run on their rig?
I'm not looking to get into the battle of who can come back with the best smart ass remark or who has the biggest balls, pound my chest contest.
I'm really asking you the question as I have actually contemplated putting some Nerf's on my Disco.
I had a GMC Yukon with the shitty junky ass plastic factory running boards. Talk about corny dude and I HATED them, but did I ever take them off? *NO*
Why you ask would I leave something on my rig that I hated?
Reason my step mom has a bad hip and I ran 285-75-R16's on my 4x4 -4dr Yukon...and even with the running boards we had a hell of a time getting her in the truck if we were commuting out to dinner or something.
Hey I could have went with smaller lift, smaller tires like the stock 235 Uniroyal's the truck had when I got it from the dealer, but hey I thought leaving the boards on and getting as much hight was better and a small sacrifice. I started to replace the plastic boards with nurfs on that truck as well, but never did.
Now I have a 3" lift on my Disco with no running boards running 265-75-R16's and I am looking at getting 2 more inches of lift as I have everything converted drives shaft conversion and so on for the bigger lift as I want to run 33's, maybe even 35's, but again here I am my Disco is 90% city trekker daily driver and 10% off road.
I never wheel the truck that much....I took it out today and tore the shit out of it in only a couple hours. The two other guys I was with sustained no damage to their rigs, which nether were Rovers.
I completely busted my OME steering stablelizer....anyway if I were to get a bigger lift now so hopefully I won't bust anymore OME SS my step mom would not even be able to get into the truck and my wife is only 4' 11" and about 110lbs so she has to climb like a monkey as well to get in my truck as it is now.
So here is my question, if I can't put the Jeep Nerf's on my Land Rover without having to hear shit about it if I were to post a picture of my rig on Disco web....than please be my guest and suggest a Land Rover OEM Nerf bar or an after market Nerf that is good enough in you're eye's for a Land Rover Discovery, so my step mom can climb her old ass into my truck, so we can go out to dinner when she is visiting in town.
Or do you just hate Nerf steps on a Rover all together, so I need to custom fab some rock sliders with a built in side step. DIY or get ripped a new own by the Royal family here on Disco web.
I mean really to all of you guys...I have seen ripping people here for what they do to their trucks just blows my mind. Hell it is my rig man if I want to paint the thing pink and put a Built in America Chevy logo across the hood on my truck, it may be moronic to anyone who likes Rovers, but it is MY truck, MY rig it has to be set up too work for me and not necessary set up like yours or you're idea of how every Rover should be.
Hell I am seriously considering yankin out the Brit 3.9ltr V8 gas engine and dropping in a 3.9ltr diesel Cummings Engine in mine and pulling the stock rear end and fabricating a whole Dodge rear end with the gearing to handle all the torq from the diesel.
I already have the engine and trans and my brother and law was looking at it today and when my gas engine takes a dump the fun may really begin.
Again dude I don't think you should get so bent when you see something on a rig you think looks hokey. I mean if you are some kinds of official Rover judge and guidelines expert I would understand maybe, and who knows maybe you are and maybe I am way out of line...not sure.
