Manual Seat Recline isnt working....

In my 99 disco 2 i have the manual reclining seats, and the knob on the side of the seat just spins free when i turn it.... I've looked thru the RAVE and it appears that its all about the electric seats... but what i can use is how to get the seat out and how to get at the mechanism, thats in there... can anybody offer any help, is it maybe a gear that has popped out, i would sure hate to pop the seat out and come to find out i cant do anything for it.....

I had the same thing happen on my Classic. Turned out the round knob had stripped out on the inside and couldnt grip the nut. I am now using a ratchet wrench works like a charm.

So, If i pop the knob off...(sounds kinda kinky) theres a nut that turns and the seat reclines? hmmmm ill have to investigate this, you could be right and the inside of the knob is worn out
