Yeah I'll buy the goddam fight. Begrudgingly. The way I figure, if/when Mayweather wins, I'll regret the $100 for a week. If for some reason McGregor wins, I'll regret not spending the $100 for the rest of my life. Damn I hate marketing....

I'd love for the Irishman to win but he probably won't. I'm not sure how a man can cough up 100's of dollars for a tv show. It's like paying for porn. You can get the "end result" for free.

The -450 line on Mayweather is absurd.

I don't think there has ever been an easier way to make a 20% profit.

A couple vegas sports books have taken $1M and $1.2M bets on Mayweather recently. Payoff is just under 20%. Insane.

Yeah I saw that too. I would love to see a big upset here but it's hard to imagine. It's like a figure skater deciding they're going to challenge an NHL pro to some one-on-one. It's just two different deals. What I would really like to see is Mayweather step into the UFC cage.....

The result is quite simple.

Any professional boxer destroys an MMA guy who elects to stand and trade.

If the MMA guy gets him on the ground it's over.

Yup, that's about how I see it... in the boxing ring.

But ground game aside, I can see the pro boxer challenged with things like clinch striking, knees and kicks. Would be great to see.

But to your point, there's this...

Yup, that was proof of the latter point. However fat James Toney, though a master boxer and badass in his prime, was not the best case study at that point in his career.

Ray Mercer vs Tank Abbott is an example for my former statement.

R.e. kicks...those aren't an issue for a boxer in terms of clean strikes...they are too slow of an attack. They are an accumulation issue howver. See if you can find Vince Phillips fighting in K1/Pride against some Japanese dude.

He literally blocks every kick, but his legs eventually wear out from doing so.
