Memory Seats

Working on a '95 LWB with memory driver's seat. It doesn't work in two positions, back or forward, and rear up and down. When I jump it at the plug in back it works fine in all positions, so there's nothing wrong with the motors. When I activate the switch in the two non-functioning positions I can hear a faint click coming from under the seat (I'm presuming from the memory ECU) but no seat movement, and when I run the self-test it won't function in those same two positions, so I suspect the switch is also okay. I don't know what else to check at this point...could it be the ECU itself, or are there some limit switches that limit the movement at the end of the travel that could be the problem? I'm stumped here...

If you jumped the motors and they worked, it sounds like you found the probelm, the ECU. I bet if you open it up, you see a leaky battery and a bunch of corrosion. I have a spare ECU, but Im saving it for a rainy day.

It might be worth opening up and repairing it.

The ECU looked great, no sign of any corrosion around the battery. However, I plugged the seat ECU out of my '94 in and everything is working fine now, so I guess it's got bad relays in the ECU. My '94 I'll just convert to non-memory seat.

Thanks everyone!

Now on to the latest problem...SRS light just came on and is blinking...:banghead:

I know this has been asked a million times, but where is that seat ECU?

Under the driver's seat. You access it from the back of the seat, it's held in by a simple 1/4 turn plastic clip on the left, then it slides out of the bracket on the right. There are several electrical plugs to disconnect in the process...
