Changing the rocker cover gaskets today and found what looks like metal chunks in the bottom. First time taking the plenum top off. This isn't normal, is it? Any idea what it would be?

Thanks

The only possible way that got in there would be thru the tube breather from the valve cover. Remove the valve cover and check for debris and also check the tube for debris.

not to scare you but.....the last time I saw that was when my '98 flashed a P0307 cylinder 7 misfire code....the cylinder sleeve had slipped and the piston rings expanded out over the top of the sleeve ....... broke the piston and she swallowed a bunch of schrapnel.....you best run a compression test

Thanks everyone. I've cleaned up for now. Nothing obvious under the valve covers. I'll check for codes and do compression next.
