Uuuugh.... You poor, confused, little man.

That's what she said! :smilelol:

Been listening to Miles Davis for 20 years or so.
Try Wynton Marsallis also. Still really young and plays at a venue near my house every year, The Mountain Winery.

miles is ... well miles. Been listening to miles for a very long time now. his evolution is pretty interesting. from the regular late 50s early 60's stuff to the pure heroin psychadelic stuff of the late 60's which tends to scare mose people away. anyone heard that live show from the fillmore west? very trippy..

i gotta say that some of my favorite stuff is from the mid 60s with miles and coltraine together just ripping it up. I have over 270 minutes of the stolkhome sweden shows from i believe 65 where the whole band is just on. miles and coltraine trading leads. just incredible versions of their classic stuff.

i noticed that someone mentioned a "love supreme" by coltraine...check out the branford marsalis dvd that came out a few years ago where they do the entire love supreme...just incredible. highly recommend it especially in 5.1 on a nice system

Anyone else listen to him or have listened to him in the past? I'm really enjoying his music.

Aquired my parents LP's, enjoy the Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock etc, except that I actually have to get up off the couch , spill the wine, disturb the cat, and trip over the dog to change sides which can spoil the mood:)

Good God, guys, you're nuts.
Miles Davis, Coltrane, Adderley, Brubeck, early Hancock... How do you mix that shit up? Or are your suggestions merely based on iTunes "Genre" definitions?

For me it depends on mood. Most of the time, I've got Miles Davis in the player. I do own others like Coltrane and Red Garland (badass piano), but Miles is where it's at for me. Whether in the garage or around the campfire.

If you're into documentaries, check this one out: Miles Davis: Miles Electric: A Different Kind of Blue. It contains his entire 37 minute session at the Isle of Wight music festival. He was in his trippy phase, but it's still great.
