Milky coolant and mis-firing

Hi everyone.

I thought someone may be able to help me out :)

I have a 99 D2 and I noticed that it had milky coolant. I thought "oil's getting there via a head gasket" and was worried, however a mate of mine said "not to worry - it's only oil in your coolant and not the other way around"...

Well, I think I've been an idiot in listening to him as my disco is now mis-firing.

Just wondering what I should do?

should I pull the octopus looking thing and the heads and replace the head gaskets (without shaving the heads) or could it be something else.

Thanks in advance.

Hi again,

Just letting you guys (and girls) know that I found the source of the mis-firing. It was a dodgy connection from the HT lead to the Bosch coils (or whatever they are).

Though I'm still stumped about the milky oil...

Cheers

you can look the other way as long as you like...the problem wont go away :(

if your coolant is milky you have a breach somewhere and its only going to get worse.

the last thing you want is a catostrophic failure such as a total release of coolant into a cylinder that could cause a bent rod or a major overheat that could warp bothe heads and maybe slip a liner.

time for some big time intervention
