I have a 2001 land rover discovery 2 and I'm getting misfires on cylinder 2,4, and 6. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? I thought maybe a coil pack but it doesn't look like one coil runs just one side of motor.

Possibly an o2 sensor leaning that side out, rare but possible. I would just start with the basics. Check spark at the end of those wires, then compression. Look for a big vacuum leak, spray some brake cleaner in that area around the upper and lower intake gaskets.

I second the spark plug wires as a possibility. If you haven't replaced those before i would do it. Mine failed at 45K.

I always get suspicious when its three cylinders in a row like that. My money is on a big vac. leak. Hard to argue that plug wires are usually the cause. But that can be eliminated with a good spark checker. Good ones will take more spark to jump the gap, so if it fires the spark checker it should fire in the cylinder.

In my case misfires all on one side (also Bank 2, coincidentally) were corrected by changing the upstream O2 sensor. The truck never threw an O2 code.
