Honestly have no idea which version of Dexron my D2 had in the trans when I bought it but I did a plain drain and fill on it last month with regular BLUE label Valvoline Dex/Merc. I got a filter kit and the RED label Valvoline MaxLife per DiscoMikes recommendation in a bunch of threads, but the new version of it is fully synthetic. I think back when he made the D2 High-Mile service posts it was plain old dino-Dex.

Do a lot of you mix in that fully synthetic stuff with regular Dex/Merc?? I'm kind of paranoid about it, and only found a few threads during hours of search, and there always seems to be naysayers when someone vouches that this is OK.

Feedback appreciated. I'm ready to go as soon as I get the green light.

Envoking Disco Mike here will get you crucified. You've been warned.
Mixing synthetic/non-synthetic will be OK. However, I would do multiple, drain/refills with the synthetic to get as much old stuff out of there as possible.
