There are so many things to do in and around Moab I don't no where to start. First, go to the Interagency Visitor Center in Downtown Moab. Info on everything. Two good maps to buy there are Moab South and Moab North by Trails Illustrated. Definitely get to Arches NP just north of Moab. Has a good visitor center. Great hikes and a great paved drive. Numerous great hikes to things like Delicate Arch which is a must do. 3 mile round trip hike. Numerous other arches some of which are near the road such s the Windows nd some on longer hikes. Incredible scenic NP. Take the Salt Valley easy gravel road out to the Tower Arch area. Great 5-6 mile round trip hike and also if you rent a Jeep you can take the Tower Arch 4 wheel trail to within 1/4 mile of Tower Arch. Drive out east of Moab along the scenic Hy 128 all the way to the Dewey Bridge area. Stop in at Fischer Towers to just see the area or take the great hike among the Towers. Also along Hy 128 is the Negro Bill hike up to Morning Glory natural Bridge. Drive west out of Moab along Hy 279 and take the marvelous hike to Corona Arch and Bow Tie Arch. Great 17 mile drive along Hy 279 along the river to the Potash area. Can keep going along this now easy gravel/4 wheel road and end up in Canyonlands NP which you can also get to via Hy 313 which starts N of Moab. Rent a Jeep and do such great trails as Fins and Things which is a must do route just east of Moab in the Sand Flats Rec Area. Several places to rent good well built Jeeps. Also along this area is Hell's Revenge which is another Moab standard. Bike the Slickrock Trail in the Sand Flats area. There are jeep and Hummer tours thru Hell's revenge and other trails. Two other great and scenic 4 wheel trails are fairly difficult Poison Spider which is also a great mtn bike route and easy Hurrah Pass and Chicken Corners. Take float trips and large power boat trips along the Colorado River too. Too many other places around Moab that would take a whole book to descibe.
