Good points! Head to head I think you are right.... Intersting that 3 houses bring the highest ROI...Never thought of it, but it makes sense.

Playing 1 on 1 with my wife I've found that I would win pretty quickly by getting one group of properties, and then just one of every other property. From there its just a matter of time.
With only 2 people in the game it seams like you run out of money before all the properties are bought, so once we both had one of the same group I'd would not buy the 3rd.
One on One you do have to watch out for the railroads, if no one ends up with any groups and the other player gets all the railroads.. your screwed.

Getting a group is the only hard part though, just have to be lucky..
Its pretty easy for no one to end up with any groups and then you end up with a game of trading $14-20 rents for a couple hours, which is really really boring.

After talking some smack to my buddy about how I can cream him at Monopoly.... Well, I got challenged to show him...

I may have over-extended my Board Game playing abilities...

Anyone any good at the game.... Whats the way to do it?

The secret is you gotta be loaded up on cheap wine. You were kicking some arse with all those state properties packed full of houses so I'd continue that line of play and you should own up to your smack just fine. And although you knocked my slumlord tail down hard on Monopoly, I shall rule over you at Dance Dance Revolution!!! mauhahamuahaha

I just make sure that im bigger than my opponent. If i win great. If they lose even better.

P.S. If youre opponent is bigger than you just grab the board and throw it right before you lose. Say something cool like "I hate you and i hate this game". The bigger person will know they have won and you will think you did.

I love Monopoly, but I doubt any advice I give you would be helpful seeing as how the amount of house rules my family uses basically turns it into a totally different game, ha.
