Mounting a winch feet forward vs feet down... are there any pros/cons to either? Or is it just a meaningless preference?

I have my winch mounted feet forward. For me it was a case of having it mounted this way allowed me to have a bumper that did not protrude to much in the front and still allow me to have a hidden Winch.
cheers

the locking lever will be on the back of the winch.

On most winches you can rotate the lever with no problem

What kind of winch do you have? Custom bumper as well? Did it really allow the winch to tuck back further?

I have a Mile marker with the locking ring plate. The solenoid pack is relocated in front of the Jack and the winch controls are relocated to the front grill and also to the cab.
I have an external throttle cable at the front beside my winch connection so as to increase the rpms when winching.
The bumper is homemade as is everything else I have on my truck.
Cheers.
