To be more specific we will be headed towards Edwards, where is a good place to live in this area?

Lancaster, Palmdale, Cal City or any other ideas.

Thanks for any info!

I'll I can say about the lancaster area is I'm sure there is some great wheelin', and willow springs raceway. I'm up in the So. Bay Area which is @6 hours away.
Bakersfield is a bit closer to me at @4 hours away, and out there is buttonwillow raceway. Both of these venues have some great car and motocycle events.
Other than the racetracks and off-roading, I don't think there is much else out there.
Look me up, it just might be worth a road trip to hang with some fellow Land Rover enthusiats.

PM me when you get settled, and I can let you know of trails.

As for places to live, do you like a large city or a small comunity?

Not sure if smaller communities in Mojave desert are necessarily safer...
Victorville is your best bet for Edwards. Otherwise, if you manage to find something up in the mountains along Hwy.138, it'll be cooler.

I agree with Peter. Lots of antisocial people move to small towns in the Mojave/Mohave (depends on which side of the colorado river you're on). Do some research. Note that Victorville seems to be a fast growing area and has all of the amenities you may want since it is on I-15.

I have a few buddies in Palmdale and they like it there.
